Hockey: FAU M3 loses against Lynn University in the final game of the season

On Friday, the Florida Atlantic M3 (Division III) ice hockey team played their final game of the season at Boca Ice against hometown rivals, the Lynn University Fighting Knights. The game was penalty-heavy, with about 132 minutes spent in the penalty box between both teams.

Women’s Basketball: FAU outlasts USF in tense game, winning 64-63

Florida Atlantic women’s basketball (9-11, 3-5 American) faced off against the University of South Florida (12-9, 5-3 American) on Saturday at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena, escaping with the win, 64-63. The Owls were extremely shorthanded, as they only had seven active players during the entire game.

Hockey: DII FAU Owls lose their first playoff game 5-4 in overtime against Mississippi

On Feb. 2, The Florida Atlantic University Owls Division II (18-4-1) hockey team played the University of Mississippi (10-8-0) in their first playoff game of the postseason. The Owls entered the playoffs ranked second in the division, while Ole Miss was ranked sixth.

Hockey: FAU Program Board funds students travel to hockey in Ft. Lauderdale

Florida Atlantic University division II hockey team is set to play their fellow Boca Raton rivals, the Lynn University Fighting Knights Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Baptist Health Iceplex in Ft. Lauderdale.. Originally, the game would have been played at the Florida Panthers Ice Den, but the venue changed due to issues with the ice.

College Hockey South (CHS) is a nonprofit hockey conference that hosts men’s and women’s hockey within the Amateur  Athletic Union (AAU). CHS hosts over 30 schools and 50 teams spanning eight southern United States.

Women’s Basketball: FAU dominates in exhibition game against University of Fort Lauderdale Eagles 111-29

Florida Atlantic University women’s basketball played in their preseason exhibition game against the University of Fort Lauderdale Eagles on Oct. 29. FAU dominated over their opponents, 111-29. 
Guards Mya Perry, Jada Moore and Erin Rodgers led FAU in scoring, each putting up 17 points. Lauderdale only had one player, Esther Joseph, in double digits with 12 points.

Hockey: FAU dominates Lynn 10-4 in the first game of the Battle at the Beach tournament

Florida Atlantic University’s Division II hockey club (4-2-1) played in their second annual Battle at the Beach tournament on Oct. 25 at the Palm Beach Skate Zone. FAU defeated Lynn University (5-2-0), 10-4.

Basketball: American Athletic Conference announces preseason coaches poll

On Oct. 11, the American Athletic Conference (AAC) announced its preseason coach polls. This is Florida Atlantic University’s second season in the AAC. Every year, the AAC coaches vote on preseason rankings for each team in the upcoming season.

Women’s Basketball: FAU welcomes eight new players for the 2024-25 season

Going into the 2024-2025 basketball season, Florida Atlantic University’s women’s basketball team welcomed eight newcomers, including five freshmen and three transfers. 
The five new freshmen are center Lovisa Asbrink Hose, forwards Emaya Lewis and Alana Rouser and guards Sydney Mains and Erin Rodgers. The three new transfer players are guards Zahira Arizmendi Rubio, Stefanie Ingram and Ta’Ziah Jenks.

After having a Division II hockey team for 22 years, Florida Atlantic University is introducing a Division III hockey team for the upcoming season. Both teams are members of AAU College Hockey and the College Hockey South Conference (CHS).

Florida Atlantic University’s Gymnastics club was formed to bring student gymnasts together, whether it is their first time or they are veteran gymnasts. 
The team practices at NTS Gymnastics in Boynton Beach every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday mornings from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. As they voyage on their road to nationals, the team uses practices as an opportunity to focus on parts of their routines or skills they need to master.
